The owners of TLM, Mike Hutchins (President) and Bob Tuohy (CEO) have over 65 years of combined experience working in the freight transportation industry. Since the mid-1990s, Mike and Bob have become increasingly aware of the ever expanding gap that exists between what carriers can or are willing to provide and what shippers and consignees actually need. Our mission since the beginning, to provide second to none comprehensive customer service by filling in this gap, continues to be the basis for what differentiates TLM from our competitors.
Most all 3PLs and brokers today offer a transactional service focused solely on providing cheap rates. At TLM, we partner with our customers and carriers to improve their entire shipping/receiving process at a competitive rate. We fill in the gap by serving as a liaison between our customer and the carriers, truly becoming a full extension and representation of our customer’s traffic departments rather than just a “rate portal”.
Whether working with manufacturers and distributors or with procurement and purchasing groups, TLM goes the extra mile to fully understand the needs of both our customers and their customers.
TLM is truly quality driven. We realize we are only as good as the carriers we utilize. Because of this, TLM continually works with our carriers, on your behalf, to ensure on-going quality issues are in focus and the expectations of our customers are not only met, but exceeded. According to our carriers, TLM is the only 3PL that holds combined quality meetings with both our carriers and our customers, works to establish on-going process and procedure improvement plans and actually participates in shift training meetings on-site with our carriers employees. TLM has co-produced customer/commodity specific training videos for our customers that carriers use in training to handle their freight in an efficient, timely and claims-free manner.
