AASBO's 58th Annual Conference and Exposition a Huge Success for TLM
TLM Exhibited and Presented at the Arizona Association of School Business Officials 58th Annual Conference & Exposition July 20th - 23rd
For the third consecutive year, TLM exhibited this year co-presented with Bill Munch, Director of Purchasing for Mesa Public Schools and Treasurer of AASBO, at the 58th Annual AASBO Conference and Exposition July 20th through July 23rd. Our workshop, titled “5 Simple Steps” to saving Significant Dollars on the items you are purchasing by using the State of Arizona Statewide Contract-EPS090098 was presented to a packed house. School districts from across the state attended with a desire to begin saving money immediately. During the workshop, numerous districts provided testimonies regarding the ease of utilizing our service and the savings they had already realized.
Our workshop focused on how school districts in Arizona are already significantly reducing the costs of items they are currently purchasing. This simple state approved program will save you 30-70% or more on the freight costs that your vendors are burying in your purchase prices or assessing you as a percentage of purchase price. Additionally, if you are allowing your vendor to prepay and add the freight, learn how to avoid paying unnecessary state sales tax on the freight portion of your purchase.
If you missed our workshop, please contact Mike Hutchins at mike@tlmlogistics.com. This workshop is a must for all districts committed to reducing unnecessary spending.
As always, TLM held our traditional “Guess What’s in the Box by Thinking Out of the Box” contest. This year we had two winners. First place (a Barnes and Noble color e-reader with internet and email capabilities with a $100 Barnes and Noble gift card) was awarded to Evelyn Hinton, Administrative Assistant, Fort Thomas Unified School District #7. Second place (a $200 gift certificate for TLM freight services to the winning school district) was awarded to Maria Reed, Director of Purchasing/Internal Audit, Prescott Unified School District. A good time was had by all participants.
